It took 19 minutes for this game to spring into life both sides had early chances but after strong pressure from the home side flanker Matthew Morgan gave Tondu the lead with a try from a five metre line out, Josh Tatchell adding the conversion from wide out. Despite further pressure from Tondu the score stayed at 7-0 at the break. A scrum five early in the second half saw veteran No 8 extend the lead with a deserved try, Tatchell again added the extra points. Tondu were now in control of this local derby clash and a quick tap penalty resulted in right wing Sam Grabham sailing over in the corner for Tondu's third try. Nantymoel then scored what was already a consolation try through wing Andrew Thomas, converted by Ryan Davies before the home side clinched a bonus point with a wonderful try for Captain Hywel Davies which resulted from some great handling from the backs, Tatchell converting from under the posts. Tondu sealed a memorable win in the 80th minute, after further forward pressure their backs were let lose for Grabham to grab his second try under the posts. In the end an emphatic 33-7 win for the Waterwheelers that should keep them top of the pile.
